The Police and Forest Management Branch from the central province of Quang Ngai arrested Nguyen Van Cuong, 36, Saturday for stock piling a large store of wild animals in Duc Pho District.
A search of Cuong’s house in Duc Pho revealed 400 kilograms of rare wild animals, both alive and dead, including muntjacs, chamois, wild boars, hedgehogs and weasels.
Four large containers of frozen meat were also uncovered.
After taking the meat out, they found another bag containing four dead chamois and muntjacs, each weighing 70 kg.
Three live hedgehogs and a monkey weighing 3 kg apiece were found in the garden.
Cuong also kept precious organs from wild animals such as pangolin or deer horns.
